Revenues from Property Tax payments fund the Town's Operating and Capital Budget (to provide for Town services and investment in infrastructure).
During the Regular Council Meeting held on January 13, 2025, Town Council approval the 2025 Operating Budget.
Within this budget there was a 1% increase in municipal tax revenues for 2025 (based on actual 2024 municipal tax revenues).
Council sets the property tax rates and publishes these each year in the Taxation Rate Bylaw.
The current Taxation Rate Bylaw (05 / 2025) was approved by Council resolution during the RCM of 12 May, 2025.
The Combined Taxation & Property Assessment includes the total amount of municipal tax a property owner must pay based on the property assessment value and the applicable tax rate.
In addition the Town collects Government of Alberta Provincial requisitions for Education & Policing.
